Happy Retirement Bunny Card!

I created this cute easel card for a friend who is retiring. I wanted to celebrate her retirement with something special so I used my new favorite stamp (thank you Jenny!!) and created an Easel Card. I used Creative Memories paper and sewed around both lilac rectangles. I added some bling along with some yellow roses for extra pizazz!

Red White and Blue Thank You Card!

In honor of Memorial Day I decided to create a Thank You card using Red, White and Blue papers. I created an easel card and based it on the Pixie Cottage Sketch #20.

I used a Dustin Pike image and printed it twice. I colored both images and cut the bear out of one of them. I flocked the bear with Stampin Up Bearly Brown flocking powder and popped it up from the base image. I cut the flowers from the Cricut Create A Critter (hedgehog) cartridge and attached them with silver brads. I topped the brads with a red, white and blue rhinestone! I also added mini silver star brads to the blue square on the top and the red rectangle on the bottom.

Red/Black Bear Thank You Card!

Hello blog friends! This next creation was made with the Just Cute Bears challenge this week. We were given the following sketch...

...and this is what I came up with! We are required to use a teddy image as well so I chose to use a "Thanks" image from PollyCraft Designs. I also chose to use one of my favorite color combos...RED and BLACK! LOVE them together! I added some yellow to make my image pop. Speaking of "popping", I popped up the head, body and shoes/socks with pop dots!

Blue and Peach Purse for Mom!

Over at Polka Doodles Challenge Blog we were challenged to make something for "Mum" using the colors blue and peach. This proved a little difficult for me as I couldn't find peach paper! Isn't that ridiculous?! Anyhow, I created this cute little purse using the Tags, Bags cartridge and the Cricut at 5inches. I used the Create a Critter cartridge to cut the peach and blue flowers from the hedgehog cut. I've been using these a lot but I really like the way they look with a black outline! I also used the Tags cartridge to make the little "For Mom" tag I cut in peach.

Ballerina Tag!

I created this little tag for recital season as it's that time of year here in Connecticut. I thought it would be a cute addition to the customary bouquet of flowers. I cut the both the Tag and Ballerina using my Cricut (Tags, Bags, Boxes and Paper Dolls).

Butterfly Wishes Birthday Card!

Hey all! Yes, another post tonight! Our challenge this week over at Cricut Cardz was to create something with a bird or butterfly cricut cut. I used the Create A Critter cartridge that I'm beginning to LOVE! I know, I know I think I say that about every new cart but this one is SO versatile! If you don't have it, I would say it's a must have!

I cut the butterfly (at 4inches) once in dark grey, then cut the layer once in pink and then the outline twice; once in purple and once in frosted vellum. I adhered them together so that the purple and vellum layers "fluttered".

I used gorgeous flowery paper layered atop butter yellow cardstock as the backdrop for my butterfly. I added a satin baby blue ribbon and attached a pink button with pink twine. Of course, I added some Luster Ice baubles too! My UK BlogFriend Jenny sent me a care package with a ton of yummy goodies, one of which was a set of foiled card sentiments. I used one of those sentiments "Butterfly Wishes" and backed it with pink cardstock and purple mini brads. This card could easily be used as a "baby" card but I chose to use it as a birthday card and used the following "Postmark Sentiments for Cards" sticker on the inside:

Bouquets of Birthday Wishes Card!

Hi blog friends! Yes I've been very busy in my craft corner. I had a tough emotional roller coaster sort of a day and I find being creative not only takes my mind off things but also helps give me solace and comfort. So, on that note...on to the project!

Over at Friday Sketchers this week we were given the following sketch:

I decided to create a birthday card for one of my dear friends who happens to be having a birthday this month (wink, wink...it's ok, she doesn't blog! lol But just in case I'm not revealing her name!) This is my creation based on the sketch:

First I have to thank my UK blog friend Jenny who sent me this ADORABLE stamp! I LOVE HIM! He's just so cute!! Thank you Jenny!!!

I stamped the image with black pigment ink and once it was dry I colored him with pencils. The image is popped up using pop dots. One of my favorite color combos is grey and pink. One of my sisters always loved grey and pink in the 80s and I guess it just rubbed off on me! I machine stitched around both the pink rectangle and the grey rectangle (not bad, eh? lol) and doodled around large gingham square and the scallops; though the scallops almost look machine stitched in this picture! I added the pink brads, flower stickers and Ice baubles (of course!) to finish it off. The inside is a "postmark for cards" sticker that I thought was rather perfect -- "Bouquets of Birthday Wishes"!

I have also entered this in a really neat challenge over at Inky Impressions. Our challenge was to honor spring flowers by using two of the following:

F - flowers or faux

L - lace or lacing

O - circle or circle embellishments

W - water color or wax paper

E - embossing or easel

R - ripping, distressing, tearing or ribbon

S - stitching (real or Faux) or sparkle

Seriously, how fun is that??!! LOVE it! So let's see, I've used letters...F, O and S (Flowers, Circle Embellishments (brads and baubles) and Stitching (real and faux!))!

Blue and Yellow Dudley Birthday Card!

I {heart} Dudley and Dustin Pike's images, so when the Doodle Studios Challenge blog asked for a birthday project I knew instantly what image I was going to use! I combined the image with the challenge over at Pixie Cottage this week, which was to use the sketch and/or use dimension. I did both! (Though it's hard to see in this picture.)

This is my version:
I think I was pretty right on as far as the sketch goes. I really like this sketch and think I'll use it in the future. Getting on with it, I printed Dudley twice and colored both images with pencils. I cut my base image with an oval Creative Memories pattern and applied glossy accents to the chocolatey frosting. On the second image I applied glossy accents to the balloon, Dudley's belly and his party hat. I had a very hard time with my color palette and I'm not really sure why.. but ended up with baby blue and butter yellow! I chose a patterned baby blue background and blue and yellow papers to use as my squares. I decided to make my own flowers using the Cricut (Create a Critter cart.) instead of using other premade flowers because I thought they were so cute! It helps I can check one more challenge off my list by doing this one little thing! ;) Once my images were dry, I cut the three things from the second image (party hat, belly and balloon) and popped them on to the base image (oval) with mini pop dots. It's hard to see in this picture but the three pieces are popped up, honest! lol I doodled around my squares and oval and started assembling. I popped up my Dudley image using pop dots too and outlined my flowers with a black fine-tip pen. I decided to use a lacy trim ribbon so it didn't take over the card. I wanted the focus to be on Dudley and the flowers. I used blue brads on the yellow centered flowers and a yellow brad on the blue centered flower. Lastly I added some...you know it!!...Luster Baubles in "Ice"! As I was admiring my work and thinking it needed something I decided to curl the corners of the squares. It was just the thing my card needed! Hope you like it!

Tulip Notecard!

This is just a cute little notecard I whipped up from a tulip Cricut cut (Create a Critter) that I ended up not using on a different project. So rather than let it go to waste I created a nice little notecard! I cut the tulips twice; once in the grass pattern and then used the layer feature to cut the tulips out of red paper. I outlined the flowers and leaves using a white opaque pen to make them look finished. I popped the red flowers up with pop dots (love me my pop dots!) and placed the finished flowers on a blue sky-looking paper!

You Rock Dad - Father's Day Card!

This is a quick post for me as I have to be getting to bed. I'm so exhausted. I cut my "rocker" from the Paper Dolls Dress Up Cricut Cartridge. I cut him several times so that I could layer him for a dimensional look. I decided to cut his hair from frosted lilac paper and added green streaks. That's rocker chic, right?? lol I layered his hair, Rock On tee, jeans and guitar. For the background papers I used a freebie download from Polka Doodles. The circles were cut using my Creative Memories circle patterns. I cut "DAD" using George and Basic Shapes and popped the white cardstock up from the Polka Doodles background circle. The "Happy Father's Day" sentiment is also from PolkaDoodles.

LadyBug Gift Card Holder!

Hello bloggers! Just in case you missed it, I did post the winner of my blog candy this evening.

This cute little ladybug gift card is a project I whipped up for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog's Challenge this week. The Challenge was to create a box or bag and include the color black on the project. I originally thought I would use black as the base color and red as an accent color but then I discovered I was out of full black cardstock pages! (Can you imagine??!!) SO, I did the next best thing. I created a cute little Ladybug! I used the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge to make my gift card holder box (matchbox cuts at 5inches) in yellow cardstock. Then I cut the ladybug from the Create a Critter cartridge at 3inches. I cut the base in black and using the layers function cut the ladybugs body using red paper. I faux stitched around the red layer and around the spots for added detail. I popped up the layer so it sits up above the bottom layer.

I used a "Happy Birthday" stamp using Moonlight white ink on black cardstock and doodled around the edge with a white opaque pen. Once I assembled the box, I doodled around the top edge with a black fine tip marker, added my ladybug, sentiment and black/white ribbon to the slide out "drawer". Now all it needs is a gift to put inside!

Tea for Two card!

Hey blog friends! I made this card using a Cherished Teddies (Priscilla Hillman) rubba stamp which I colored with pencils. I LOVE this image! I LOVE Cherished Teddies and have collected them since I was very little. To create with them now is soothing and exciting all at the same time! This was really hard to color since it's so detailed but I think it came out pretty well in the end. I used Little Yellow Bicycle (flowery) and pink patterned papers. I used three blue mini brads and pale pink satin ribbon. I also used three tea roses that are dusted with chunky glitter. The charm is a little tea pot (how cute??!!) hanging from the bow.

Teddy Fairy Picking Flowers Card!

Hello all! For this card I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers:

I chose to use a cute image from Dustin Pike. This was the first time I have used Flower Soft on a project (on the flowers) and Stickled the flowers in the basket. I used glossy accents and Diamond Dust glitter on the wings. I cut the wings from a second image and curled them up from the base image. I used three different shades of pink and embossed the left rectangle using the Sizzix Texture Boutique. The pink shimmer ribbon is from the dollar store. (smile!) I added three crystal brads, doodled around the outside of the Teddy image and a green pearl to top on off the flowers.

Happy Spring Sunflower Card!

This is a cute little card I finished yesterday for the Stamp Something challenge blog. The Challenge was to celebrate something. I chose to use this sunflower stamp I haven't used before and decided to celebrate Spring! I liked the yellow and black contrast. The flower is feathered upward (see bottom pic).

Chic Codi Brown/Pink Circles Birthday Card!

I have been very busy at the craft table the last two days! Here is one I just finished up and just under the deadline too! As I might fall asleep at the keyboard I will keep the details to a minimum. I usued PollyCraft's Chic Codi image (I've been using her a lot...hope she doesn't mind! lol) The Challenge over at Pixie Cottage was to create something using a sketch. I think I did pretty well with that and the challenge over at PaperPlay was to create something using the theme "Brown and...". I chose Brown and Pink as I love that combo! The challenge at the Totally Gorjuss blog was to create something with the theme "Round and Round". Finally the challenge this week at PaperTake Weekly was to"Say it with Flowers". So keeping all of that in mind here it is....!!
