Let it Snow Card!

Have I told you recently that I LOVE Dustin Pike's images?! Here is Dudley the dragon making a snow friend! So cute! I colored the image in with colored pencils and matted it on black for definition. I used Creative Memories PP for the background and stamped the "Let it Snow" sentiment which I then embossed with my new heating tool! I added lace, ribbon and snowflakes to finish it off! Don't forget I have BLOG CANDY HERE!!!

Baby, It's Cold Outside Card!

This week's challenge over at Dustin Pike's Doodle Dragon Studios was to create something using a recipe: A DDS image, embossing, metal and bling. I love this cute little snowman holding the birdhouse image and after coloring him in with pencils, I backed him with red/white snowflake paper. I decided to use the blue cardstock to offset the red. I stitched zigzag around the edges, not so straight, but there nonetheless! I stickled around the snowman with Frosted Lace stickles and added some red bling to the white circle. I embossed white cardstock with the Sizzix Texture Boutique and the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder to make it look like falling snow. I added some metal snowflake brads and blue ribbon.

Happy Thanksgiving Card!

Howdy all! I hope you're having a great Saturday and aren't we all loving the long weekend?! I was bestowed an awesome gift by Mr. Dustin Pike (free digis!!!) and needed to put it to good use right away. The Thanksgiving challenge is still going on over at Doodle Dragon Studios Challenge Blog and so here is my second entry. I absolutely LOVE this image. The great thing about this digi is that it came colored already!! LOVE that! Made it easy for me to create this 5.5x5.5inch card. I used my good ol' distressing tool to distress the edges of the background papers and then inked them with Vintage Photo Ink. I also inked the white image square. Some twine and stick on flowers topped off the card!

Thanksgiving Thanks!

Over at the Doodle Dragon Studios Challenge Blog, the theme this week is Thanksgiving. As I don't have a turkey image from Doodle Dragon (it's on its way!) I went for a harvest-y feel. For me Thanksgiving is all about being thankful for the people in your life and the blessings around you. So here is a little creation I made to use as a Thanksgiving Thank You card. I used a Dustin Pike image and colored him with pencils. I distressed all the edges (even the mat circle!) and used Vintage Photo Ink to ink them all (including the white inner circle). I used the same ink to stamp the thank you sentiment. Topped this cutie off with some neutral flowers and a twine bow!

Quick and Easy Christmas Card!

One more Quick and Easy Christmas Card for you tonight! This image is from Dustin Pike. I colored him in using watercolor pencils and matted him with a metallicy green paper. I doodled around the white edge with red for a finished touch. I used my Sizzix Texture Boutique and the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder on the white cardstock. Added the red ribbon and adhered the image. DONE! Again, SO easy!

I've Been Framed Christmas Card!

Good evening! I'm still not used to this time change. It feels like it should be so much later in the day! Anyway, I've created a few things for your viewing pleasure today. The first was inspired by Digital Tuesdays Challenge called "I've been Framed". This challenge blog always requires a digital image and whatever the weekly challenge may be. I chose to use this cutie patootie image from the wonderful Dustin Pike. This card was so super easy to do and the challenge over at Polka Doodles this week happens to be "Quick and Easy Christmas".

Wanna know how easy?

Ok, so I cut the circle frame using the Cricut and the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge at 5inches. I adhered it to a 5x5 red card, colored my image and adhered it and the sentiment tag to the card. Done! SO EASY!

Happy 4th of July Centerpiece!

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY TO MY AMERICAN FRIENDS!! I hope you all had fun and safe celebrations this weekend! Perhaps you had a picnic, caught some fireworks or spent some quality time with family, regardless I hope it was great! We had a small barbecue at our house to celebrate both Independence Day and MY Birthday! ;) I wish it lasted a little longer but boy was I exhausted afterward!

In celebration of Independence Day I made the following centerpiece to put on the outside table. I used Dustin Pike's "Uncle Sam Dudley" image and cut the stars using the Cricut and the George cartridge. I used the Cricut DS to design and cut the "Happy 4th" sentiment using the Alphalicious cartridge. I added floral foam to the bottom of a plain silver pail and then added white shredded paper. I added the skewers to the stars, sentiment and image and stuck them into floral foam. I added the red stars ribbon I had in my stash to the outside of the pail and the Red, White and Blue ribbon to the image.

July 4th is my favorite part of the summer as it usually involves spending a lot of time with family and friends. It is my favorite summer celebration and I don't think "summer" without thinking of 4th of July celebrations!

#1 Dad Card!

The challenge ending this week at Doodle Dragon Studios is to create something for Father's Day using a Dustin Pike image. I wasn't sure which one to pick but I finally settled on this cute little bee waving a banner. I made the banner twice and popped one up to look like it was waving in the wind. The bee image is handcolored with pencils. I decided to make an easel card so it would look like the bee was flying. I used the brown/lime green color combo and stitched around the inside panel using a zigzag stitch.

Flower Picking Fairy Easel Card!

Morning all! I got halfway through the previous post and we lost electricity from the bad storm we were having. :( Made me miss one of my favorite challenge blogs. :( Oh well! We were powerless from about 3pm-2am! Thankfully there are no little ones but the dog was super spooked! Poor baby. I don't think he's ever been in a power outage come to think of it.

Anywho, I created this next project with the Doodle Dragon Studios Challenge in mind because this time around we were challenged to use flowers!

You know, I LOVE my Dustin Pike images so...I thought this Teddy Fairy picking flowers was the perfect one. I colored him with pencils then stickled wings of another image I had printed and added glossy accents and stickles to the base image. When all that was dry, I cut out my second set of wings and adhered only the right side to the base image so I could curl them up! I then flocked the Teddy with Bearly Brown Stampin' Up Flocking Powder. I added Baby Pink FlowerSoft to the flowers on the ground and the one in his hand.

Again, once everything was dry, I added my Teddy friend to a dark pink circle with pop dots (of course! *smile*). I created the easel card and decided to go with blue papers to match the Teddy's outfit. I took on a challenge of my own when I decided to use the zigzag stitch on the sewing machine for the first time! After a few practice rounds I think the finished product came out pretty well! I stitched around the full inside panel and the half easel panel. Finally, on to the flowers! I decided rather than use pre-fab flowers I would once again make my own using my Cricut and the Create A Critter cartridge. (Have I mentioned lately I LOVE this cart.???!!!! lol) I cut fifteen flowers all together (at 2.5, 2 and 1.5inches) and matched them up in three's to create nice big (3-D) flowers! I doodled around the edges and pieced them together with brads. I adhered them all with pop dots. ;) I added white rhinestones to the tops of the brads to match the rhinestone brads I used on the base of the card to hold up my easel! I have discovered I very much like making easel cards and I didn't know how easy it was! LOVING them! --This project is entered in the following challenges--

TeddyButterfly Blank Card!

Howdy friends! There are quite a few projects I would like to share with you today and I don't have much time so they will be quick posts. If I have any energy later I"ll come back and give details!

This cute little Bear/Butterfly is an image from Dustin Pike and I cut the flowers from the Cricut Create A Critter (hedgehog cut), doodled and layered them. LOVING those flowers!

I added some bling to the teddy's wings and surrounding card.

Blue and Yellow Dudley Birthday Card!

I {heart} Dudley and Dustin Pike's images, so when the Doodle Studios Challenge blog asked for a birthday project I knew instantly what image I was going to use! I combined the image with the challenge over at Pixie Cottage this week, which was to use the sketch and/or use dimension. I did both! (Though it's hard to see in this picture.)

This is my version:
I think I was pretty right on as far as the sketch goes. I really like this sketch and think I'll use it in the future. Getting on with it, I printed Dudley twice and colored both images with pencils. I cut my base image with an oval Creative Memories pattern and applied glossy accents to the chocolatey frosting. On the second image I applied glossy accents to the balloon, Dudley's belly and his party hat. I had a very hard time with my color palette and I'm not really sure why.. but ended up with baby blue and butter yellow! I chose a patterned baby blue background and blue and yellow papers to use as my squares. I decided to make my own flowers using the Cricut (Create a Critter cart.) instead of using other premade flowers because I thought they were so cute! It helps I can check one more challenge off my list by doing this one little thing! ;) Once my images were dry, I cut the three things from the second image (party hat, belly and balloon) and popped them on to the base image (oval) with mini pop dots. It's hard to see in this picture but the three pieces are popped up, honest! lol I doodled around my squares and oval and started assembling. I popped up my Dudley image using pop dots too and outlined my flowers with a black fine-tip pen. I decided to use a lacy trim ribbon so it didn't take over the card. I wanted the focus to be on Dudley and the flowers. I used blue brads on the yellow centered flowers and a yellow brad on the blue centered flower. Lastly I added some...you know it!!...Luster Baubles in "Ice"! As I was admiring my work and thinking it needed something I decided to curl the corners of the squares. It was just the thing my card needed! Hope you like it!

Dudley Pink, Green & White Birthday Card!

Another post today! I just happened to be on a pink and green kick over the past few days as you can tell by my posts today! lol Oh well! It's a great color combo, what can I say?! :) I created this project for the Doodle Dragon Studios Challenge Blog. The challenge was to use the colors Pink, Green and White. I LOVE Dustin Pike's images and use them frequently. For this project I chose to use Happy Birthday Dudley. I used the Sizzix Texture Boutique and the Happy Birthday Cuttlebug folder to texturize the green background paper. I colored Dudley with pencils and then used Glossy Accents to add some shine to the image. I faux stitched around Dudley's circle and doodled around the pink and green papers. I added pink & white polka dotted ribbon to my green paper then began to assemble my card. I popped the pink rectangle and Dudley up twice (I'm sorry I didn't get a side view pic!), rounded my card corners, added the "Happy Birthday" sentiment (it's a sticker!! LOVE IT!), popped up two shades of pink flowers (which are attached with a pink brad topped with a pink rhinestone!), added some pink bling to the bottom corner (it looked naked! lol), added a pink rhinestone on the top of Dudley's Birthday party hat and finally added some Luster Baubles in "Ice" to the left side of Dudley's circle. I really love the way this turned out and I hope you do too!

Get Well Soon Card!

Good evening all! I created this "Get Well Soon" Card yesterday and had great fun doing so! The image is from Dustin Pike that I've been hanging on to for quite some time. I absolutely loved it the moment I saw it but didn't have a chance to use it...until now!! I colored two copies of the image with pencils. The cloud is doodled in by me...I think I have a new job waiting for me...LOL! Anyway, after I colored the images I paper pieced them together so that the bear's head and feet are popped up and so is the dog's head. I added Glossy Accents to the grass, "drool" (lol), dog's spots, cloud, bear's tongue and nose. I LOVE Glossy Accents!! The brown paper is from Bazzill, the "Rose Stripe" paper is from Colorbok and the "Chocolate Mousse" paper (background for the image) is Studio 8.

I used Martha's Scalloped edge punch on the top of the brown paper and bottom of the Rose Stripe paper.

I added bright silver brads to the corners of the image and then topped them of with crystals! I also added a single pink flower to the top left corner using the brad to secure it. I stickled the edges for more bling! The pink w/brown flower ribbon behind the image is from the $ bin at Target (smile) and I added a couple crystals to the middle of two of the flowers on one side and one flower on the left side. The satin pink ribbon is from my stash and is tied with a purple button, gold flower charm (w/ a crystal in the middle!) and thin white twine. I added diamond crystals to the top scallop and copper metallic pearls to the bottom scallop. Three Luster Baubles in "Ice" were the finishing touch and VIOLA! OH!! I forgot my favorite part!! So see where the doggy ripped the bear's arm??!! Well, since the bear is supposed to be stuffed...I ripped up a cotton ball and adhered the "stuffing" to both the bear's arm socket (in the dog's mouth!) and to the bear's body (where the arm was ripped from!). Just thought it added a fun effect, rather than leaving it as a plain white space. :)

"Egg Hunt" Happy Easter Card -- Doodle Dragon Studios Challenge #6 Entry!

Hello all! I hope you're having a great weekend! It is nice and sunny here in Connecticut so that is automatically makes it a great weekend on my end! :) Project # 27 of 30 of my Spring Creation Self Challenge is a cute Easter card using a Dustin Pike image. Have you seen Dustin's blogs? He creates the cutest images and sometimes even gives them away FREE!! Check his blogs out...Dustin Pike and Doodle Dragon Studios Challenge Blog . I used his Easter Bunny freebie image to create my entry over on the Doodle Dragon Studios Challenge Blog. The requirements for entry were to create an Easter project using one of Dustin's images. Almost too good to be true! I had SOOO much fun with my entry, so without further delay...This is what I whipped up!

Isn't Dustin Pike's Bunny Digi Stamp SOOO cute???!!! He looked like a bunny on a mission so I paired him up with the "egg hunt" stamp. I decided to make my bunny a "chocolate bunny" (my favorite!! lol) Once my bunny was colored I added pale pink glitter dust to his ears, nose and belly. I added diamond stickles to his eyes and his eggs and pink stickles to the outside of the white circle. When the stickles finished drying I added Glossy Accents to the eggs and grass for more detail. (You can see the glitter and gloss better in the next picture.) I also flocked his tail with Beary Brown Stampin' Up Flock. I wish you could see it better in these pictures, but my camera isn't great at close up shots. :(

After all my Bunny pieces were dry, I assembled my pieces using adhesive and Pop dots for dimension. You know I loooove my pop dots! ;) I found this FAB "Hoppy Easter" paper in my stash and better yet it was two sided with this cute pink/white egg paper, so I decided it was meant to be and put the two together. I used the MS scallop border punch on both the card base and the pink/egg paper and used my white opaque pen to draw the white dots on the scallops. I tied my little dark pink satin bow, lilac button and a dark pink smaller button, all together with some thin white twine.

I assembled my entire card and added medium sized pastel green pearls to the bottom of the "bounce" lines for added detail. Can you see all my lovely dimension in the picture above?? LOVE it! I doubled and tripled up on my pop dots! Actually, I ran out of pop dots while assembling and since I had a "one day only" coupon for today at M's I decided I'd run down to restock and get a few other things of course! ;)

I like to finish the inside of my cards too so that they are ready to go when I need them (like, tomorrow for this one! lol) I stamped the frilly frame and then the sentiment. "Happy Easter" is from that cute little "Pure Innocence" stamp set I've used a lot lately. I added some tiny crystals to the swirly points in the frame and 3 pale blue pearls to the middle of the sentiment. A close up pic is below...

I hope you liked this creation as it was really fun to create! I love working with Dustin's images and I can't help but have fun when I'm using his images!
