Clean and Simple Christmas Card!

This week's challenge over at ABC Christmas Challenge Blog was "C for Clean and Simple" and we had a sketch to follow. Here's the sketch:Here's my take on the sketch! I used a Dustin Pike Christmas digi which I used pencils to color. Then I matted the image on Christmas green paper and paired it with the polka dotted paper; both were from a Christmas mini stack. The sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts and the ribbon, button and twine are from my stash. I faux stitched and doodled for a finished look.Don't forget to check out my BLOG CANDY going on until February 14th!

Bunches of Love Card!

The challenge over at Digital Tuesday this week was to create something using shades of gray and only one other color (white was allowed). I chose to use red and this cute little mouse digi that I got for free! I'm sorry I don't remember where it came from. I colored him in with pencils and then used glossy accents on his hearts and nose! I used Creative Memories DP and triple matted the image using 2 shades of gray and red. I looped ribbons into tags and stuck them behind the image. I used my alpha beads to spell out love. Don't forget to check out my BLOG CANDY up for grabs until February 14th!

Valentine For a Man Card!

I created this next card specifically with a masculine feel to go along with the Cricut Cardz challenge this week. I combined it with Crafty Creation's poem inspiration challenge. I used ultra shiny red satin paper, Creative Memories DP and a sheet music stamp (in Vintage Photo). I cut the heart using my Cricut and the George & Basic Shapes cartridge, twice; once in shadow and one base cut. I printed the sentiment off the computer (a line from the poem) and then inked over the white paper using Vintage Photo Distress Ink by Ranger. You can't really tell in the photo but the banner is rippled so it looks like it's flying or waving. --This project is entered in the following challenges--

Fibro Aware Card!

The challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog this week was to create a project to show your support for a cause or to raise awareness for a cause. Well, most of you know I have Fibromyalgia and suffer daily this this debilitating chronic pain syndrome. The most common color associated with Fibro is purple so my card is all purple and butterflies are also commonly shown with Fibro awareness logos. Did you know Fibromyalgia Awareness Day is May 12th?? Don't forget to where your purple that day! The ribbon image is from Dustin Pike and I colored it with pencils before I used Diamond stickles to outline it. I cut the butterfly at 2inches using my Cricut and the Live Simply cartridge. "Fibro" is cut at 1inch using the Alphalicious cartridge. The ribbon is purple satin from my stash and I added Diamond stickles to the butterfly's wings and to the letters to make everything shiny. I wish I could make Fibromyalgia shiny; nothing about it is shiny unfortunately. If you'd like to know more about it click my "Fibromyalgia" page above for info and great links! Speaking of Fibro awareness...Don't forget to check out my BLOG CANDY and grab my Fibro awareness button to display on your blog!

Scavenger Hunt LO!

I discovered yet another cool challenge blog called Abby's Scrappy Mom's Challenge! This week's challenge is Anything Goes so I decided to enter a LO I did for a online Photo Scavenger Hunt I participated in yesterday. Yesterday's challenge was to find and take a picture of 10 things from a list of 15 or so. Then make a LO showing what you found. I cut the letters using my Cricut and the Alphalicious cartridge. I first cut the shadow feature in black and then the base cut in yellow. I matted all the pictures on butter yellow cardstock and used Creative Memories DP. The camera is cut from Create A Critter cartridge (mouse-s cut). I cut it first in black using the shadow feature and then in dusk gray for the middle layer and finally in light gray for the top layer. I also recycled my plastic Cricut mat liner and cut a small circle to put in the layers to create a "lens"! It's reflecting off the light in this picture making it look silver but it's actually clear.
Don't forget to check out my BLOG CANDY up for grabs until February 14th!

Get Well Card!

I made this Get Well Soon card for a dear friend of mine who had to have her knee replaced. The bouquet of flowers is a rubba' stamp and I textured the darker lilac paper using my Sizzix Texture Boutique and the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. The "Get Well Soon" is also a rubba' stamp. I decided against coloring in the image and went for a simple look. I added three purple roses to finish it off. Another reminder to check out my BLOG CANDY!

Snow Friends Card!

Good afternoon everyone! WOW! I've hit over 80 followers! I can't believe it! Thank you all so much! I'd like to share a card I made yesterday for the "Baby it's Cold Outside" Challenge over at PollyCraft. This is a rubba' stamp from Cookie Crumbs "Snow Friends" collection. I used pencils to color it in and Diamond stickles to make it sparkle! The sentiment is from the same collection and says "There's no friends like snow friends!". I wrapped a piece of thin light weight twine into a bow to finish it off! Don't forget about my BLOG CANDY!! Please help me spread Fibromyalgia Awareness!

Teddy Boy Card!

This week over at the Pixie Cottage Challenge we were asked to follow this sketch and to use buttons! Easy Peasy! Here's my take on the sketch! I used a fiberous blue paper for the background and various shades of yellow paper. The image is from the great Dustin Pike and I colored him using pencils. I then added Glossy Accents to his hat, nose and buttons. I doodled around the edges and tied a thin white twine through the buttons. Easy peasy!
Don't forget about my BLOG CANDY going on until February 14th!

Be My Valentine Card!

This is my first time entering a challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge Blog! I thought one of the requirements was to use Peachy Keen Stamps, which I unfortunately do not own, but that is only for their Friday challenge! YAY! The Tuesday challenge is open to use whatever stamp you would like! WAHOO! So this week's challenge is a sketch and make it monochromatic! Here's the sketch: And here's my take! I used various shades of red (pink is a shade!) The stamp is from Ellephantastic and came colored! LOVE that! The ribbon is from Bo Bunny. I cut the heart and circles using my Cricut and George & Basic Shapes cartridge. I then cut the circles in half. I textured the heart and vertical rectangle (after I distressed the edges) with my Sizzix Texture Boutique and Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. I went over the heart with Moonlight White ink and then stickled each dot with Diamond stickles. I also inked all the paper edges with Vintage Photo Ink by Ranger. I stickled the edges of the circles also. I faux stitched with my trusty white gel pen for a finished look.
Can you see the glitz?

DIVA Birthday Card!

I'd like to introduce you to a new Challenge Blog called Die Cuttin' Divas! It's sure to shape up to be a really fun challenge! I'm excited! The first challenge was to follow this sketch:

I used my Baby Cricut Bug and the George & Basic Shapes, Paper Doll Dress Up and Alphlicious cartridges. I thought it only fitting to put "Diva" in the oval! Then I glammed it all up! I used both Diamond and Cotton Candy stickles and lots of crystal rhinestones! The punch is from MS and the ribbon is from my stash. I printed the sentiment off the computer!

Can you see all the sparkle??
A real diva needs a crown!
There's still time to embrace your inner diva! Head on over to Die Cuttin' Divas and give the sketch a whirl!

Just a reminder, I have BLOG CANDY going on until February 14th and because I've exceeded 70 followers (my goal was 50!!) I'll be adding to the loot! Spread the word!

Chinese New Year Card!

The Sentimental Sundays Challenge this week was to create something to Celebrate the Chinese New Year. I had the perfect digi stamp in mind (sorry I don't know where I got it!) and set off to make this card. I used Creative Memories paper and used a Fiskars border punch on the strips of gold. I used gold ribbon and printed the sentiment off the computer. I used a translation program to get the traditional Chinese translation for "Celebrate".

Dinosaur Birthday Card!

Hello bloggers! I am still very sick but I wanted to get this card uploaded for a few challenges. I hope you don't catch my yucky germs! ;) This dino birthday card is based off the following sketch from The Pixie Cottage. This cute dino birthday image is from the great Dustin Pike and I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment. The color scheme is from another challenge over at Sentimental Sundays. We were to use Olive and Hunter greens, Poppy and Summer Sun. The papers are Creative Memories and the stars were given to me from my good friend Jenny in the UK. I cut the circles at 1 inch using my Cricut and the George and Basic Shapes cart. I doodled around and used Glossy Accents on the Dino's balloons and party hat. For finishing touches I added bling to the center of each star and used Diamond stickles on the pom pom.

Koala Birthday Card!

I'd like to share a cute birthday card I made for my sister who LOVES Koala Bears. I used the Create A Critter cartridge and my Cricut machine to create this cute little lovey. I cut the Koala using the shadow feature twice. Adhered them together and then cut the layers (light gray and dark gray). I used pop dots to add dimension between layers. I cut the heart balloon from the same cartridge and used a rub on to add the sentiment. Finishing touches include the pink rhinestones on the heart balloon and the purple bow in the Koala's ear. SO easy and SO cute!

Snowman Shaped Card!

Here is a card I created for the Cricut Cardz Challenge Blog whose challenge this week was to create something using a snowman from any Cricut cartridge. I chose to use Doodlecharms because I love this snowman cut! The card is 5.5 inches high. I first cut the snowman (using the blackout feature) twice on black cardstock to create the card base. Then I cut just the snowman body using Glimmer White paper. Unfortunately, you can't see it in the picture but the paper glimmers in the light. I used an old shoelace cut in half as his scarf and frayed the tips. The inside has a stamped "Happy Holidays" sentiment in Moonlight white ink. Just another reminder to check out my BLOG CANDY post and I have several posts regarding blog hops and candy alerts! I'd love to have you as a follower!

Happy Valentine's Day Card!

Well today's the day for Digital Tuesday Challenge! I haven't played along with them in a few weeks so it feels good to get back into the swing of things! The challenge this week is the following sketch: Here's my take on the sketch! The image is from Dustin Pike (who else?! lol) and I colored it using pencils. I used textured purple paper for the background and then various shades of pink. The purple polka dotted ribbon and rhinestones are from my stash and the "Happy Valentine's Day" stamp was something I picked up in M's $ bin! I cut the hearts out on my Cricut using George and Basic Shapes (my neglected cartridge!) and cut them twice; once using the shadow feature and white paper and once using the regular cut and pick paper. I layered them and used Cotton Candy stickles to outline them. I also used Cotton Candy stickles on the image (heart, belly and toes!)

OK, on to today's creation! There is a sketch over at PaperTake Weekly Challenge this week.
Here's the sketch:
Here's my take on the sketch! The image is from the very talented Dustin Pike and was colored using pencils. Then I used Glossy Accents on his top hat and stickles on the hearts and around his snow parts! I faux stitched around the white circle and matted the image on brick red cardstock. The sentiment is a rubba' stamp and says "Thank you snow much!". I used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder on the light blue paper. I used a fine weight white twine on the white buttons.

Hope you like it! Check out the rest of my blog for various blog hops and candy alerts!

There's No Place Like Home Card!

Hello everyone and happy Saturday to ya! I hope everyone is staying warm! I created this 5x5 card to follow along with a few challenges. The first was this sketch by Pixie Cottage. The second was Polka Doodles, whose theme was "There's no place like home". And lastly, the third challenge was over at PaperPlay and was "Back to black". I used a new (to me!) technique where I colored the image with watercolor pencils and then actually brushed water over the colors to make it look like I painted it with watercolors. It came out pretty neat I think. The image is from PollyCraft.
Let's not forget I have BLOG CANDY going on HERE!
