Teddy Boy Card!

This week over at the Pixie Cottage Challenge we were asked to follow this sketch and to use buttons! Easy Peasy! Here's my take on the sketch! I used a fiberous blue paper for the background and various shades of yellow paper. The image is from the great Dustin Pike and I colored him using pencils. I then added Glossy Accents to his hat, nose and buttons. I doodled around the edges and tied a thin white twine through the buttons. Easy peasy!

Dinosaur Birthday Card!

Hello bloggers! I am still very sick but I wanted to get this card uploaded for a few challenges. I hope you don't catch my yucky germs! ;) This dino birthday card is based off the following sketch from The Pixie Cottage. This cute dino birthday image is from the great Dustin Pike and I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment. The color scheme is from another challenge over at Sentimental Sundays. We were to use Olive and Hunter greens, Poppy and Summer Sun. The papers are Creative Memories and the stars were given to me from my good friend Jenny in the UK. I cut the circles at 1 inch using my Cricut and the George and Basic Shapes cart. I doodled around and used Glossy Accents on the Dino's balloons and party hat. For finishing touches I added bling to the center of each star and used Diamond stickles on the pom pom.

Happy Valentine's Day Card!

Well today's the day for Digital Tuesday Challenge! I haven't played along with them in a few weeks so it feels good to get back into the swing of things! The challenge this week is the following sketch: Here's my take on the sketch! The image is from Dustin Pike (who else?! lol) and I colored it using pencils. I used textured purple paper for the background and then various shades of pink. The purple polka dotted ribbon and rhinestones are from my stash and the "Happy Valentine's Day" stamp was something I picked up in M's $ bin! I cut the hearts out on my Cricut using George and Basic Shapes (my neglected cartridge!) and cut them twice; once using the shadow feature and white paper and once using the regular cut and pick paper. I layered them and used Cotton Candy stickles to outline them. I also used Cotton Candy stickles on the image (heart, belly and toes!)

Thank You Snow Much Card!

Howdy everyone! Hope once again everyone is nice and warm! I'm well over 5,000 hits now and almost at 50 followers! I can't believe it! Please pass on the CANDY word if you haven't already and don't forget to comment! I've decided to keep the actual candy a surprise for the lucky winner! Hurry, February 14th will be here before we know it!

OK, on to today's creation! There is a sketch over at PaperTake Weekly Challenge this week.

Here's the sketch:

Here's my take on the sketch! The image is from the very talented Dustin Pike and was colored using pencils. Then I used Glossy Accents on his top hat and stickles on the hearts and around his snow parts! I faux stitched around the white circle and matted the image on brick red cardstock. The sentiment is a rubba' stamp and says "Thank you snow much!". I used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder on the light blue paper. I used a fine weight white twine on the white buttons.

Christmas Wishes Card!

Yes, it's a Christmas post in January and no I'm not late but rather I'm starting EARLY!! Did you know there is a GREAT Christmas Challenge Blog?! Well I'm sure there is more than one but I happen to be a fan of the ABC Christmas Challenge Blog! If you participate every two weeks you're guaranteed to have at least 24 Christmas cards finished by December 25th! My goal is to participate in every challenge so let's get creating with Christmas!

So this week's ABC Challenge was "B for Black and white" plus a Dustin Pike image (since he's sponsoring the challenge!!!). Well you all know how much I love my Dustin Pike images so I pulled this one from the archives and hand colored it with pencils. I matted it on black and printed off the sentiment using the Microsoft Word program. (You might say I made my own digi! lol) I used a black background and layered the two colors for contrast. I used a MS corner punch on the white corners to make them fancy and used black ribbon across the center. I added Glossy Accents to Dudley's yellow parts and Diamond Dust stickles to Santa's "furry" parts! I also rounded the foundation corners for a finishing touch. The challenge over at PaperPlay this week was to get "back to black" by using black for the foundation. Fancy that, I've done that with this card! :) Don't forget I have BLOG CANDY HERE!!!

Let it Snow Card!

Have I told you recently that I LOVE Dustin Pike's images?! Here is Dudley the dragon making a snow friend! So cute! I colored the image in with colored pencils and matted it on black for definition. I used Creative Memories PP for the background and stamped the "Let it Snow" sentiment which I then embossed with my new heating tool! I added lace, ribbon and snowflakes to finish it off! Don't forget I have BLOG CANDY HERE!!!

Cuddly Fairy Card!

My favorite thing in the world (other than my friends and family) is Teddy Bears! I LOVE them and have collected them in some form since I was very small. Most of my collection is from the Cherished Teddies collection by Enesco. So whenever I see a stamp or digi with a teddy bear in it I can't resist it! This image is from Dustin Pike. The challenge over at Totally Gorjuss this week was to create something "cuddly". What's better for cuddles than a teddy?? So here's my entry. I used varying pink papers and lime green to set off all the pink. I handcolored the image with pencils and added some doodles and bling to finish it off.

Christmas Thank You Card!

I created this cute 4x6 card using Dustin Pike's snowfriends image. I've used this image a few times already this winter but it's just so darn cute! The three background papers are glittery but you can't see that in the picture. :( I hand colored the image using pencils and then stickled around my snowman and on the hats of the penguin and teddy. This card was based off a sketch from Polka Doodles this week (see pic below).
How'd I do on my interpretation of the sketch? I am SO excited as I'm headed up to New Hampshire tomorrow for a 4 day scrapbooking retreat at the beautiful Pilgrim Pines camp resort with some FAB ladies!! I don't know how much scrapping I'll actually get done since we're all so social but it'll be a great time anyway! I hope everyone has a great weekend and is having a great New Year!

Snow Friends Box!

I love to make these little boxes from Cricut's Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge. This one is the purse cut and I think it came out just so cute! I cut it at 5.5 inches and used a Dustin Pike image called Snow Friends. I stickled using Frosted Lace, Red and Gold stickles and added the K&Co poinsettas. The tag was cut from the same paper as the image's mat and was cut using the TBBM cartridge at 1.5inches. I added some red ribbon for a "handle", tied on my tag and this project was finished! I love it when it comes together the way you pictured! This little purse/box is ready for a small gift such as earrings or even some candies!

Baby, It's Cold Outside Card!

This week's challenge over at Dustin Pike's Doodle Dragon Studios was to create something using a recipe: A DDS image, embossing, metal and bling. I love this cute little snowman holding the birdhouse image and after coloring him in with pencils, I backed him with red/white snowflake paper. I decided to use the blue cardstock to offset the red. I stitched zigzag around the edges, not so straight, but there nonetheless! I stickled around the snowman with Frosted Lace stickles and added some red bling to the white circle. I embossed white cardstock with the Sizzix Texture Boutique and the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder to make it look like falling snow. I added some metal snowflake brads and blue ribbon.

Thanksgiving Thanks!

Over at the Doodle Dragon Studios Challenge Blog, the theme this week is Thanksgiving. As I don't have a turkey image from Doodle Dragon (it's on its way!) I went for a harvest-y feel. For me Thanksgiving is all about being thankful for the people in your life and the blessings around you. So here is a little creation I made to use as a Thanksgiving Thank You card. I used a Dustin Pike image and colored him with pencils. I distressed all the edges (even the mat circle!) and used Vintage Photo Ink to ink them all (including the white inner circle). I used the same ink to stamp the thank you sentiment. Topped this cutie off with some neutral flowers and a twine bow!

Quick and Easy Christmas Card!

One more Quick and Easy Christmas Card for you tonight! This image is from Dustin Pike. I colored him in using watercolor pencils and matted him with a metallicy green paper. I doodled around the white edge with red for a finished touch. I used my Sizzix Texture Boutique and the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder on the white cardstock. Added the red ribbon and adhered the image. DONE! Again, SO easy!

I've Been Framed Christmas Card!

Good evening! I'm still not used to this time change. It feels like it should be so much later in the day! Anyway, I've created a few things for your viewing pleasure today. The first was inspired by Digital Tuesdays Challenge called "I've been Framed". This challenge blog always requires a digital image and whatever the weekly challenge may be. I chose to use this cutie patootie image from the wonderful Dustin Pike. This card was so super easy to do and the challenge over at Polka Doodles this week happens to be "Quick and Easy Christmas".

Wanna know how easy?

Ok, so I cut the circle frame using the Cricut and the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge at 5inches. I adhered it to a 5x5 red card, colored my image and adhered it and the sentiment tag to the card. Done! SO EASY!

Christmas in June!

Yes, that's right! Christmas in June!! :) The challenge this week over at Digital Tuesday's blog is to use a Christmas digi and this week's challenge is sponsored by (drum roll please...) DOODLE DRAGON STUDIOS!!!! You know I love my Dustin Pike images!!! Fingers crossed the random org. picks my project!! :)

So I combined this with the PaperTake challenge this week which was the following sketch:

I chose one of my favorite images from Dustin Pike (this was not a requirement, I just seemed right since he's sponsoring the challenge!) and colored it with pencils. I used Glossy Accents on Dudley the Dragon and on Santa's nose and boots. Once that was dry, I flocked the trim on Santa's suit with a thick, linen white flocking powder.

I used red cardstock to mat the image and then combined it with green cardstock and shiny snowflake DP. I added some mini roses and rounded my corners to finish the card.

#1 Dad Card!

The challenge ending this week at Doodle Dragon Studios is to create something for Father's Day using a Dustin Pike image. I wasn't sure which one to pick but I finally settled on this cute little bee waving a banner. I made the banner twice and popped one up to look like it was waving in the wind. The bee image is handcolored with pencils. I decided to make an easel card so it would look like the bee was flying. I used the brown/lime green color combo and stitched around the inside panel using a zigzag stitch.

Dudley Uncle Sam Card!

The challenge over at Pixie Cottage this week was to use their sketch and make it patriotic. How fun is that?! This is what I came up with. I used Dustin Pike's "Uncle Sam Dudley" image and since I'm a proud American I used my Red, White and Blues! I used the sewing machine to zig-zag stitch around the red square and added some star brads & RWB Ribbon to finish it off!

Summer Bliss Teddy Card!

I love this little Teddy Digi Stamp from Dustin Pike. I know, I know I LOVE Dustin Pike's images and I probably say that about every single one but this one is especially cute! I created an easel card using the blue and yellow color combo. I stitched the bottom panel using the zig zag stitch and used a cute sun dimensional sticker to hold up the easel. I colored the image with pencils and outlined it with a fine tip black marker. The sentiment is a stamp I scooped up in the $ bin at AC Moore! :) I {heart} the $ bins! :) I added rhinestones to the swirly at the bottom of the sentiment.

BBQ Invitation!

I created this next project for Papertake Weekly as their challenge was "Summer Fun" and I couldn't think of anything more fun in the summer than getting together with family and friends at a Bar-B-Que (BBQ)!! I had this cute Hedgie image from Dustin Pike that I thought would be perfect. This project did not start off as an invitation but don't you just love how our creative minds are able to transform a project right in the middle?! I used bright colors because they remind me of summer (my favorite season, btw!) and I cut the "You're Invited" from the Alphalicious Cricut cartridge twice; once using the shadow feature (blue) and once using the base feature (yellow).

Isn't this Hedgie just toooo cute??!! Oops! I just noticed I forgot something...can you see what it is? Oh well! lol

Flower Picking Fairy Easel Card!

Morning all! I got halfway through the previous post and we lost electricity from the bad storm we were having. :( Made me miss one of my favorite challenge blogs. :( Oh well! We were powerless from about 3pm-2am! Thankfully there are no little ones but the dog was super spooked! Poor baby. I don't think he's ever been in a power outage come to think of it.

Anywho, I created this next project with the Doodle Dragon Studios Challenge in mind because this time around we were challenged to use flowers!

You know, I LOVE my Dustin Pike images so...I thought this Teddy Fairy picking flowers was the perfect one. I colored him with pencils then stickled wings of another image I had printed and added glossy accents and stickles to the base image. When all that was dry, I cut out my second set of wings and adhered only the right side to the base image so I could curl them up! I then flocked the Teddy with Bearly Brown Stampin' Up Flocking Powder. I added Baby Pink FlowerSoft to the flowers on the ground and the one in his hand.

Again, once everything was dry, I added my Teddy friend to a dark pink circle with pop dots (of course! *smile*). I created the easel card and decided to go with blue papers to match the Teddy's outfit. I took on a challenge of my own when I decided to use the zigzag stitch on the sewing machine for the first time! After a few practice rounds I think the finished product came out pretty well! I stitched around the full inside panel and the half easel panel. Finally, on to the flowers! I decided rather than use pre-fab flowers I would once again make my own using my Cricut and the Create A Critter cartridge. (Have I mentioned lately I LOVE this cart.???!!!! lol) I cut fifteen flowers all together (at 2.5, 2 and 1.5inches) and matched them up in three's to create nice big (3-D) flowers! I doodled around the edges and pieced them together with brads. I adhered them all with pop dots. ;) I added white rhinestones to the tops of the brads to match the rhinestone brads I used on the base of the card to hold up my easel! I have discovered I very much like making easel cards and I didn't know how easy it was! LOVING them! --This project is entered in the following challenges--

TeddyButterfly Blank Card!

Howdy friends! There are quite a few projects I would like to share with you today and I don't have much time so they will be quick posts. If I have any energy later I"ll come back and give details!

This cute little Bear/Butterfly is an image from Dustin Pike and I cut the flowers from the Cricut Create A Critter (hedgehog cut), doodled and layered them. LOVING those flowers!

I added some bling to the teddy's wings and surrounding card.
