Fibro Aware Card!

The challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog this week was to create a project to show your support for a cause or to raise awareness for a cause. Well, most of you know I have Fibromyalgia and suffer daily this this debilitating chronic pain syndrome. The most common color associated with Fibro is purple so my card is all purple and butterflies are also commonly shown with Fibro awareness logos. Did you know Fibromyalgia Awareness Day is May 12th?? Don't forget to where your purple that day! The ribbon image is from Dustin Pike and I colored it with pencils before I used Diamond stickles to outline it. I cut the butterfly at 2inches using my Cricut and the Live Simply cartridge. "Fibro" is cut at 1inch using the Alphalicious cartridge. The ribbon is purple satin from my stash and I added Diamond stickles to the butterfly's wings and to the letters to make everything shiny. I wish I could make Fibromyalgia shiny; nothing about it is shiny unfortunately. If you'd like to know more about it click my "Fibromyalgia" page above for info and great links! Happy Valentine's Day Card!

Well today's the day for Digital Tuesday Challenge! I haven't played along with them in a few weeks so it feels good to get back into the swing of things! The challenge this week is the following sketch: Here's my take on the sketch! The image is from Dustin Pike (who else?! lol) and I colored it using pencils. I used textured purple paper for the background and then various shades of pink. The purple polka dotted ribbon and rhinestones are from my stash and the "Happy Valentine's Day" stamp was something I picked up in M's $ bin! I cut the hearts out on my Cricut using George and Basic Shapes (my neglected cartridge!) and cut them twice; once using the shadow feature and white paper and once using the regular cut and pick paper. I layered them and used Cotton Candy stickles to outline them. I also used Cotton Candy stickles on the image (heart, belly and toes!)

Cupcake Shaped Birthday Card!

Happy Thursday everyone! Hope all are well and keeping warm. We're expecting another snow storm overnight tonight. Fun is! In the meantime, I have a few creations for you. The first is a cupcake shaped birthday card I made using my Cricut and the Doodlecharms cartridge. I love making shaped cards!! I think they come out so cute! This one was cut at 5 inches. I first cut the shadow of the cupcake twice to make the card base then used the manual to cut the other layers. I used this fab pre-glittered (sugary glitter!!) cardstock for the frosting and candle. Needless to say, I had glitter EVERYWHERE! lol I stamped "Happy Birthday" on the "wrapper" after everything was assembled for a finishing touch. Doesn't it look so yummy??! The challenge this week over at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog was "Sweet Shop"; in other words, create some sort of sweet and as always a cricut cut must be present on the project. I think this cupcake shaped birthday card fits the bill perfectly! Don't forget I have BLOG CANDY going HERE!

Christmas Greeting Card Holder!

This week over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge, the challenge was to "Deck the Halls"; meaning make something to decorate your "halls" with. I decided to create a Christmas Photo card holder. I always get great photo cards but there isn't a good way to display them so I made a way! I used skewers (at different lengths) and hot glued mini clothespins to the ends. I also hot glued little red bows to the clothespins so they looked finished. I used a tin bucket and tied a red starry ribbon around it, hot gluing it in place. I cut Santa using my cricut and the Doodlecharms cartridge. His white elements were cut from sparkly white cardstock though it doesn't show up in the picture. I love this Santa cut; from what I've seen, I think he's the cutest of all the Santa cuts. I only put a few skewers in my holder but it's very versatile and can be made with more or less.

"S" is for Snowman Card!

Here's another Quick and Easy Christmas Card I whipped up tonight. I used the Cricut and Stretch Your Imagination cart to create the circle frame and Doodlecharms to make the snowman. I cut the frame at 5inches and adhered it to a 5x5 white card. I cut the snowman at 2inches twice, once using the blackout feature and once using the regular cut. I colored his nose orange (instead of cutting the snowman again in orange...trying to save paper! lol) and traced around his outer edge with Diamond Dust Stickles. I added the Merry Christmas tag and DONE! Super easy!

You Turkey!

This first cute turkey card was inspired by the Bitten By The Bug2 "Flourish" Challenge. I used the flourish from the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge, the Turkey from Create A Critter and the sentiment from Tear Drop. I distressed the edges of the background paper and inked all the pieces with Vintage Photo Distressing Ink. The Flourish was cut at 4 inches and the turkey was cut at 2 inches. I'm submitting this "Thanks so Much" 5x5 card for the Fantabulous Cricut "Bird Bonanza" Challenge.

I was smitten with this little Turkey I decided to make a shaped card of him too! He was cut at 5 inches. Isn't he so cute??

Giraffe Birthday Card!

I created this cute little giraffe birthday card for a family member who loves giraffes. It just so happens the challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge was to create something with a Cricut Zoo Animal! The papers are mostly by Creative Memories with a little Bazzill thrown in for good measure! :) I used the Create-A-Critter Cricut Cartridge to create my little giraffe and used the phrase function from the bear cut to create the "Happy Birthday" phrase. I rounded the corners and added Luster Baubles to finish it off! The giraffe is dimensional and the phrase is popped up off the paper as well.

Happy 4th of July Centerpiece!

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY TO MY AMERICAN FRIENDS!! I hope you all had fun and safe celebrations this weekend! Perhaps you had a picnic, caught some fireworks or spent some quality time with family, regardless I hope it was great! We had a small barbecue at our house to celebrate both Independence Day and MY Birthday! ;) I wish it lasted a little longer but boy was I exhausted afterward!

In celebration of Independence Day I made the following centerpiece to put on the outside table. I used Dustin Pike's "Uncle Sam Dudley" image and cut the stars using the Cricut and the George cartridge. I used the Cricut DS to design and cut the "Happy 4th" sentiment using the Alphalicious cartridge. I added floral foam to the bottom of a plain silver pail and then added white shredded paper. I added the skewers to the stars, sentiment and image and stuck them into floral foam. I added the red stars ribbon I had in my stash to the outside of the pail and the Red, White and Blue ribbon to the image.

July 4th is my favorite part of the summer as it usually involves spending a lot of time with family and friends. It is my favorite summer celebration and I don't think "summer" without thinking of 4th of July celebrations!

Baby Shower Invitation!

This baby shower invitation was made entirely using my cricut. I used the DoodleCharms cartridge. I cut the bottle once in white then cut using the layers feature twice, once in yellow and once in pink.

The inside is very simple and left blank just so I could use this as an example. Unfortunately, my "You're Invited" rubber stamp was too large for the bottle. :(

Red White and Blue Thank You Card!

In honor of Memorial Day I decided to create a Thank You card using Red, White and Blue papers. I created an easel card and based it on the Pixie Cottage Sketch #20.

I used a Dustin Pike image and printed it twice. I colored both images and cut the bear out of one of them. I flocked the bear with Stampin Up Bearly Brown flocking powder and popped it up from the base image. I cut the flowers from the Cricut Create A Critter (hedgehog) cartridge and attached them with silver brads. I topped the brads with a red, white and blue rhinestone! I also added mini silver star brads to the blue square on the top and the red rectangle on the bottom.

Blue and Yellow Dudley Birthday Card!

I {heart} Dudley and Dustin Pike's images, so when the Doodle Studios Challenge blog asked for a birthday project I knew instantly what image I was going to use! I combined the image with the challenge over at Pixie Cottage this week, which was to use the sketch and/or use dimension. I did both! (Though it's hard to see in this picture.)

This is my version:
I think I was pretty right on as far as the sketch goes. I really like this sketch and think I'll use it in the future. Getting on with it, I printed Dudley twice and colored both images with pencils. I cut my base image with an oval Creative Memories pattern and applied glossy accents to the chocolatey frosting. On the second image I applied glossy accents to the balloon, Dudley's belly and his party hat. I had a very hard time with my color palette and I'm not really sure why.. but ended up with baby blue and butter yellow! I chose a patterned baby blue background and blue and yellow papers to use as my squares. I decided to make my own flowers using the Cricut (Create a Critter cart.) instead of using other premade flowers because I thought they were so cute! It helps I can check one more challenge off my list by doing this one little thing! ;) Once my images were dry, I cut the three things from the second image (party hat, belly and balloon) and popped them on to the base image (oval) with mini pop dots. It's hard to see in this picture but the three pieces are popped up, honest! lol I doodled around my squares and oval and started assembling. I popped up my Dudley image using pop dots too and outlined my flowers with a black fine-tip pen. I decided to use a lacy trim ribbon so it didn't take over the card. I wanted the focus to be on Dudley and the flowers. I used blue brads on the yellow centered flowers and a yellow brad on the blue centered flower. Lastly I added some...you know it!!...Luster Baubles in "Ice"! As I was admiring my work and thinking it needed something I decided to curl the corners of the squares. It was just the thing my card needed! Hope you like it!

LadyBug Gift Card Holder!

Hello bloggers! Just in case you missed it, I did post the winner of my blog candy this evening.

This cute little ladybug gift card is a project I whipped up for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog's Challenge this week. The Challenge was to create a box or bag and include the color black on the project. I originally thought I would use black as the base color and red as an accent color but then I discovered I was out of full black cardstock pages! (Can you imagine??!!) SO, I did the next best thing. I created a cute little Ladybug! I used the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge to make my gift card holder box (matchbox cuts at 5inches) in yellow cardstock. Then I cut the ladybug from the Create a Critter cartridge at 3inches. I cut the base in black and using the layers function cut the ladybugs body using red paper. I faux stitched around the red layer and around the spots for added detail. I popped up the layer so it sits up above the bottom layer.

I used a "Happy Birthday" stamp using Moonlight white ink on black cardstock and doodled around the edge with a white opaque pen. Once I assembled the box, I doodled around the top edge with a black fine tip marker, added my ladybug, sentiment and black/white ribbon to the slide out "drawer". Now all it needs is a gift to put inside!
