Encouraging Bunny Card!

This week at Friday Sketchers we were asked to create something using the sketch I based this card on. PaperTake Weekly asked for stitching and Sentimental Sunday asked for Encourgaement/Support. Combine all three together and this is what I came up with using a rubber stamp image colored with pencils. I've been on a monochromatic kick lately, I'm not sure why!

Sparkles & Sunshine Birthday Card!

This sparkly creation is the end result of two challenges smooshed together! The first was a sketch at Pixie Cottage and the second was to make something "SHINE!" at Crafty Creations. I wish the pictures came out better, but there is "shine" from the Diamond Dust glitter on the Fairy's dress, Chunky White Glitter on the roses, Stickles on the fairy's wings & hair flower and various rhinestones.

Sorry for the blurry picture! The sentiment reads "May your day be filled with sparkles and sunshine! Happy Birthday".This is what it looks like with the flash to show off the SHINE-factor!

#1 Dad Card!

The challenge ending this week at Doodle Dragon Studios is to create something for Father's Day using a Dustin Pike image. I wasn't sure which one to pick but I finally settled on this cute little bee waving a banner. I made the banner twice and popped one up to look like it was waving in the wind. The bee image is handcolored with pencils. I decided to make an easel card so it would look like the bee was flying. I used the brown/lime green color combo and stitched around the inside panel using a zigzag stitch.

Baby Elephant Card!

I created this simple baby elephant card for a friend who is expecting. The card is gender neutral as she hasn't found out yet what she's having. I used lavendar paper as a mat for the image and used yellow flowery background paper. They look blue in this picture but both the bottle top and the rattle are purple.

Summer Bliss Teddy Card!

I love this little Teddy Digi Stamp from Dustin Pike. I know, I know I LOVE Dustin Pike's images and I probably say that about every single one but this one is especially cute! I created an easel card using the blue and yellow color combo. I stitched the bottom panel using the zig zag stitch and used a cute sun dimensional sticker to hold up the easel. I colored the image with pencils and outlined it with a fine tip black marker. The sentiment is a stamp I scooped up in the $ bin at AC Moore! :) I {heart} the $ bins! :) I added rhinestones to the swirly at the bottom of the sentiment.

Boy Fishing Card!

I created this cute little boy fishing card using a vintage image but I don't remember where I picked up the image (sorry!). I colored it with pencils and combined it with a blue/yellow color combo. I added glossy accents to the fish to make him look wet and slimey!

Butterfly Wishes Birthday Card!

Hey all! Yes, another post tonight! Our challenge this week over at Cricut Cardz was to create something with a bird or butterfly cricut cut. I used the Create A Critter cartridge that I'm beginning to LOVE! I know, I know I think I say that about every new cart but this one is SO versatile! If you don't have it, I would say it's a must have!

I cut the butterfly (at 4inches) once in dark grey, then cut the layer once in pink and then the outline twice; once in purple and once in frosted vellum. I adhered them together so that the purple and vellum layers "fluttered".

I used gorgeous flowery paper layered atop butter yellow cardstock as the backdrop for my butterfly. I added a satin baby blue ribbon and attached a pink button with pink twine. Of course, I added some Luster Ice baubles too! My UK BlogFriend Jenny sent me a care package with a ton of yummy goodies, one of which was a set of foiled card sentiments. I used one of those sentiments "Butterfly Wishes" and backed it with pink cardstock and purple mini brads. This card could easily be used as a "baby" card but I chose to use it as a birthday card and used the following "Postmark Sentiments for Cards" sticker on the inside:

Bouquets of Birthday Wishes Card!

Hi blog friends! Yes I've been very busy in my craft corner. I had a tough emotional roller coaster sort of a day and I find being creative not only takes my mind off things but also helps give me solace and comfort. So, on that note...on to the project!

Over at Friday Sketchers this week we were given the following sketch:

I decided to create a birthday card for one of my dear friends who happens to be having a birthday this month (wink, wink...it's ok, she doesn't blog! lol But just in case I'm not revealing her name!) This is my creation based on the sketch:

First I have to thank my UK blog friend Jenny who sent me this ADORABLE stamp! I LOVE HIM! He's just so cute!! Thank you Jenny!!!

I stamped the image with black pigment ink and once it was dry I colored him with pencils. The image is popped up using pop dots. One of my favorite color combos is grey and pink. One of my sisters always loved grey and pink in the 80s and I guess it just rubbed off on me! I machine stitched around both the pink rectangle and the grey rectangle (not bad, eh? lol) and doodled around large gingham square and the scallops; though the scallops almost look machine stitched in this picture! I added the pink brads, flower stickers and Ice baubles (of course!) to finish it off. The inside is a "postmark for cards" sticker that I thought was rather perfect -- "Bouquets of Birthday Wishes"!

I have also entered this in a really neat challenge over at Inky Impressions. Our challenge was to honor spring flowers by using two of the following:

F - flowers or faux

L - lace or lacing

O - circle or circle embellishments

W - water color or wax paper

E - embossing or easel

R - ripping, distressing, tearing or ribbon

S - stitching (real or Faux) or sparkle

Seriously, how fun is that??!! LOVE it! So let's see, I've used letters...F, O and S (Flowers, Circle Embellishments (brads and baubles) and Stitching (real and faux!))!

Chic Codi Brown/Pink Circles Birthday Card!

I have been very busy at the craft table the last two days! Here is one I just finished up and just under the deadline too! As I might fall asleep at the keyboard I will keep the details to a minimum. I usued PollyCraft's Chic Codi image (I've been using her a lot...hope she doesn't mind! lol) The Challenge over at Pixie Cottage was to create something using a sketch. I think I did pretty well with that and the challenge over at PaperPlay was to create something using the theme "Brown and...". I chose Brown and Pink as I love that combo! The challenge at the Totally Gorjuss blog was to create something with the theme "Round and Round". Finally the challenge this week at PaperTake Weekly was to"Say it with Flowers". So keeping all of that in mind here it is....!!

A Few Things To Share...

Good Evening everyone! I just wanted to share a few of the projects I finished yesterday.

The first project was a Cricut Cartridge Exploration for me as I've never used Tags, Bags, Boxes and More before. I received around Easter and haven't really gotten to "play" with it yet. I made this little box that would be great as gift card holder. I used some YUMMY Little Yellow Bicycle Spring paper and pale pink satin ribbon.
Second, I have a cute Thank You card with a PollyCraft Digi Stamp. I colored the image with pencils and added Glossy Accents to a few places (shoes, heart and part of her hat). I decided to do a black card base so the yellow would pop up off the page without actually popping (nope, no pop dots used!) I topped it off with white twine, both a yellow and black button and some rhinestones!

This next project is a Thank You card I am creating for a client. It is a simple Thank You card using whimsy Butterfly lilac paper and violet satin ribbon.

Cupcake Birthday Card!

I am loving the pink/green color combo lately and here it comes again! I played along with 2S4Y this week and we were to follow Kazan's sketch:

And here's my take!

I scalloped the lime and pink gingham papers and then used the sewing machine to stitch around the block of scalloped papers. In hindsight I wish I had used black thread but hindsight is 20/20 I suppose. I added a pale pink satin ribbon and bow with a "happy birthday" charm I made myself using a variety of pink beads. I colored The Cutting Cafe cupcake image in with pencils and then cut out the heart "candies" form another cupcake image and attached them with pop dots. Before cutting them out I applied Glossy Accents to all the hearts to make them "candy coated". :) I faux stitched around the lime oval. Then it was time to assemble the card. I adhered the scalloped paper block and then adhered the bright pink square (corner rounded) and pop dotted the green oval. I also pop dotted the cupcake for added dimension. Luster baubles in "Ice" finished off the card!

Teddy-Fly Thinking of You Card!

Good evening all! This is a quick post as it's very late! I made this card for a cute challenge blog I found which is completely perfect for me as I LOVE TEDDIES and it's called "Just Cute Bears"!! It's all about creating with Teddies!!! I was SOOO excited when I found it the other day. This week's challenge over at Just Cute Bears was to create a multi-fold card; something I have never done before. All in all it went pretty well and this is what I came up with using a super cute Dustin Pike image!

I apologize for the not-so-great pics but the inside is stamped "Thinking of You". Hope you like this as it's one of my faves! LOVE that Dustin Pike image!

Dudley Pink, Green & White Birthday Card!

Another post today! I just happened to be on a pink and green kick over the past few days as you can tell by my posts today! lol Oh well! It's a great color combo, what can I say?! :) I created this project for the Doodle Dragon Studios Challenge Blog. The challenge was to use the colors Pink, Green and White. I LOVE Dustin Pike's images and use them frequently. For this project I chose to use Happy Birthday Dudley. I used the Sizzix Texture Boutique and the Happy Birthday Cuttlebug folder to texturize the green background paper. I colored Dudley with pencils and then used Glossy Accents to add some shine to the image. I faux stitched around Dudley's circle and doodled around the pink and green papers. I added pink & white polka dotted ribbon to my green paper then began to assemble my card. I popped the pink rectangle and Dudley up twice (I'm sorry I didn't get a side view pic!), rounded my card corners, added the "Happy Birthday" sentiment (it's a sticker!! LOVE IT!), popped up two shades of pink flowers (which are attached with a pink brad topped with a pink rhinestone!), added some pink bling to the bottom corner (it looked naked! lol), added a pink rhinestone on the top of Dudley's Birthday party hat and finally added some Luster Baubles in "Ice" to the left side of Dudley's circle. I really love the way this turned out and I hope you do too!

Pink & Lime Cupcake Birthday Card!

Afternoon all! Hope your Thursday is going well! I STILL have my headache from Monday. :( Very annoying BUT it's a BEAUTIFUL day outside so that makes me happy!

This creation was made using a sketch from my dear blog friend Jacque over on the Friday Sketchers Challenge Blog! Here's the sketch:

And here's my take! What do you think?
I used a YUMMY Cutting Cafe cupcake image, colored it in using watercolor pencils and added glossy accents to make it shiny! I faux stitched around the white oval and also doodled around the pink square. I added a pink satin ribbon down the middle, a "Happy Birthday" charm, bows and some bling to finish it up. I did not take a side view pic, but yes, no worries, my square is "popped up" from my card! lol

Celebrate Spring Card!

Hello all! Hope you had a great day in your part of the world! Tonight's post is a quick one as I'm afraid I might fall asleep as I type, I'm so exhausted! I finished up this cute little card using a vintage image from Digital Two for Tuesday. Have you been to Two for Tuesday yet?? Every Tuesday she gives away TWO FREE vintage images!! I grabbed this image awhile ago and have been waiting to use it as I think it's so cute. She's applying "rouge" to her petals in preparation for spring! How clever!!?? Simple design with simple color combo and matching pink lace trim down the center. Nothing is popped! Imagine that, I did NOT use any pop dots! CRAZY! lol :)

Dog Shaped Card!

Phoenix loves his Grammy sooo much so of course he begged me to make card for her for Mother's Day! I used the Cricut DoodleCharms cart. This was a fun and surprisingly easy card to make. I paper pieced to add dimension and faux stitched around the front of the card. Isn't he just too cute?? :)

Mother's Day Card!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mommies out there! That includes my Mommy friends who have four-legged babies! :) This is the Mother's Day card I gave to my Dear Mother this morning.

I found this yummy "mother" paper at JoAnn Fabrics and the fuschia "Gemstones" paper there as well. I stitched (yes, with the sewing machine!!) around the lime paper and used a "Soft Spoken" sticker to top it off. I used ribbon, pearls, baubles and the button from my stash. The charm I made myself using a long bead pin, a gold flower charm from my stash (that I adhered a rhinestone flower to!) and added pink and opal beads to before I attached it to my ribbon. I faux stitched around the "mother paper". I ran the "gemstones" paper through my Sizzix Texture Boutique using a flowery Cuttlebug folder and added the Luster Baubles randomly to the design.
The butterfly is a stamp that I stamped on white cardstock using Moonlight white ink then used Ranger Perfect Pearls in Berry to add color and shimmer. I cut the butterfly out and added it to the card. I added some pearls along the spine and rhinestones on the anetenna.
I hope you liked this creation as I've been waiting to show it to you all! Don't forget when I get to 10 followers I will be giving away some sweet CANDY so spread the word!

Butterfly Thank You Card!

A very nice friend of mine did something, well, VERY nice for me this week SO I decided she deserved a card! I used paper, ribbon and embellies from my stash. I used this awesome butterfly stamp using Tim Holtz's Vintage Photo Distress Ink and added Ranger Perfect Pearls in Perfect Pearl to give the butterfly a metallic-y finish. The "explore text" is also a stamp. I only used the Vintage Photo Ink on this whole card.
