Cuddly Fairy Card!

My favorite thing in the world (other than my friends and family) is Teddy Bears! I LOVE them and have collected them in some form since I was very small. Most of my collection is from the Cherished Teddies collection by Enesco. So whenever I see a stamp or digi with a teddy bear in it I can't resist it! This image is from Dustin Pike. The challenge over at Totally Gorjuss this week was to create something "cuddly". What's better for cuddles than a teddy?? So here's my entry. I used varying pink papers and lime green to set off all the pink. I handcolored the image with pencils and added some doodles and bling to finish it off.

Purple Earth Fairy Card!

This precious and sparkly PollyCraft Earthy Fairy digi image is paired up with the sketch this week from Friday Sketchers. The challenge at Totally Gorjuss was to create something inspired by "Sugar and Spice". Lastly, the challenge at Sentimental Sunday was to use your favorite sentiment. My favorite sentiment is just plain old "happy birthday" because I love making someone's special day a little brighter!
Combining those three challenges I came up with one gorjuss creation for my df Aleana as today is her birthday! It's hard to see in this picture but the fairy's dress and wings are glitterfied (smile!) with Diamond Dust glitter.

Strawberries and Cream Card!

The next creation was based on the following sketch from Totally Gorjuss and was inspired by AllSorts Challenge of "Strawberries and Cream".
Isn't the strawberry paper divine? I loved it and had no idea what I'd use it for until I read the AllSorts challenge this week. I was so excited I finally got to use it!! :) I machine stitched around both the red rectangle and the berry paper. I used the Sizzix Texture Boutique and Swiss Dots Folder to emboss the card base. The yummy ribbon is from the $ bin at Joann's and is self adhesive. I thought it went well with these colors. The image is a free digi (I'm sorry I don't remember from where!) You can't really see the sentiment but it says "Hand picked for You"! I topped it off with three little strawberry stickers I found from Mrs. Grossman's.

Fairy Card!

Good Morning! I have something to share with you this fine sunny morning. I hope it's very nice weather in your part of the world! This week Friday Sketchers challenged us to the following sketch:

Here is my version! I used a freebie digi stamp (I think I got it from PollyCraft, but please correct me if I'm wrong) because several challenges this week had to do with wings or fairies. The challenge over at PaperPlay Weekly was to create something "Up In The Air". I chose the fairy because she looks like she's flying mid air and also chose the butterfly lilac background paper because butterflies fly in the air!

Chic Codi Brown/Pink Circles Birthday Card!

I have been very busy at the craft table the last two days! Here is one I just finished up and just under the deadline too! As I might fall asleep at the keyboard I will keep the details to a minimum. I usued PollyCraft's Chic Codi image (I've been using her a lot...hope she doesn't mind! lol) The Challenge over at Pixie Cottage was to create something using a sketch. I think I did pretty well with that and the challenge over at PaperPlay was to create something using the theme "Brown and...". I chose Brown and Pink as I love that combo! The challenge at the Totally Gorjuss blog was to create something with the theme "Round and Round". Finally the challenge this week at PaperTake Weekly was to"Say it with Flowers". So keeping all of that in mind here it is....!!

Quilled Flower Card!

Hi all! I did something I have never done before. I ventured into the world of "Quilling". According to dictionary.com "to quill is to arrange [paper] in cylindrical ridges". It was interesting to say the least and I don't know how people create gorgeous pictures entirely by quilling. Amazing to me! I chose to make a flower for the Quixotic Challenge Blog. The challenge this week was to "Let Your Garden Grow" by making your own flowers. I thought this would be the best opportunity to try something new! I stitched around the light blue background using the sewing machine and added the "Thanks A Bunch" alpha beads by hand sewing them to the beige paper and then popped the paper up from the blue background.

Cricut Pirate Card!

This card was So much fun to create!!!! I used my Cricut and the Paper Dolls Dress Up cartridge to create the cutest pirate!! The challenge over at Cricut Cardz was to create a card using 3 circle cuts from any Cricut Cartridge. I used George and Basic Shapes to create my 3 circles. I used Creative Memories oval patterns to create the red oval that frames my little pirate. I used the sewing machine to stitch around the yellow cardstock and faux stitched around the red oval. The flag and treasure chest are cuts from the PDDU cart (under pirate girl) and the pirate ship and gold coins are from a pirate sticker pack from Sandylion. I wrapped natural twine around the yellow cardstock and tied a metal button with a bow. I added some black mini brads to the corners. I also used a black netted ribbon on the white background to give the card some texture. I then began to assemble the card. I used pop dots to pop the red oval from the yellow cardstock and also used pop dots to raise my little pirate.

Chic Cody Happy Birthday Card!

Howdy all! I created this Chic Cody Birthday Card using the Chic Cody Digi Stamp from Pollycraft Digi Stamps and More. She was a FREEBIE! Love those! I've been dying to use her in a project and this was the perfect one! :)

This is the first card I've made using REAL stitching on the sewing machine!! Not perfect, but I'll take it! :) I stitched the brown background, and all three panels. I've also loaded this card with texture/dry embossing using my Sizzix Texture Boutique. This little machine has come in VERY handy! LOVE it! I used the Cuttlebug Swirl folder and Swiss Dots folder. I left the swirl embossing as is but decided to ink my Swiss Dots with Vintage Photo Distress Ink so they dots would show up better. I colored Cody with pencils and used Glossy Accents on the pink part of her hat, on her hair, shirt and pants. I paper pieced her together using pop dots. Once everything was assembled, I added this great brown/pink polka dotted ribbon to the left side. I added a pink button tying it with pink twine and adding the Happy Birthday charm. I embellished my charm by attaching a jewelry pin with three pink glass beads. Added my Green/Pink flowers pinned together with a brown/pink brad and PRESTO! I was finished! I know this post wasn't as detailed as usual so feel free to ask questions should you have any!
