Clean and Simple Christmas Card!

This week's challenge over at ABC Christmas Challenge Blog was "C for Clean and Simple" and we had a sketch to follow. Here's the sketch:Here's my take on the sketch! I used a Dustin Pike Christmas digi which I used pencils to color. Then I matted the image on Christmas green paper and paired it with the polka dotted paper; both were from a Christmas mini stack. The sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts and the ribbon, button and twine are from my stash. I faux stitched and doodled for a finished look.Don't forget to check out my BLOG CANDY going on until February 14th!

Christmas Wishes Card!

Yes, it's a Christmas post in January and no I'm not late but rather I'm starting EARLY!! Did you know there is a GREAT Christmas Challenge Blog?! Well I'm sure there is more than one but I happen to be a fan of the ABC Christmas Challenge Blog! If you participate every two weeks you're guaranteed to have at least 24 Christmas cards finished by December 25th! My goal is to participate in every challenge so let's get creating with Christmas!

So this week's ABC Challenge was "B for Black and white" plus a Dustin Pike image (since he's sponsoring the challenge!!!). Well you all know how much I love my Dustin Pike images so I pulled this one from the archives and hand colored it with pencils. I matted it on black and printed off the sentiment using the Microsoft Word program. (You might say I made my own digi! lol) I used a black background and layered the two colors for contrast. I used a MS corner punch on the white corners to make them fancy and used black ribbon across the center. I added Glossy Accents to Dudley's yellow parts and Diamond Dust stickles to Santa's "furry" parts! I also rounded the foundation corners for a finishing touch. The challenge over at PaperPlay this week was to get "back to black" by using black for the foundation. Fancy that, I've done that with this card! :) Don't forget I have BLOG CANDY HERE!!!

Christmas Thank You Card!

I created this cute 4x6 card using Dustin Pike's snowfriends image. I've used this image a few times already this winter but it's just so darn cute! The three background papers are glittery but you can't see that in the picture. :( I hand colored the image using pencils and then stickled around my snowman and on the hats of the penguin and teddy. This card was based off a sketch from Polka Doodles this week (see pic below).
How'd I do on my interpretation of the sketch? I am SO excited as I'm headed up to New Hampshire tomorrow for a 4 day scrapbooking retreat at the beautiful Pilgrim Pines camp resort with some FAB ladies!! I don't know how much scrapping I'll actually get done since we're all so social but it'll be a great time anyway! I hope everyone has a great weekend and is having a great New Year!

Pink and Green Frosty Card!

Only 3 more days until Christmas!! Is all your shopping done and wrapped? My shopping is done and everything is wrapped! I had a hard time wrapping this year; my hips just didn't like standing in one place. Thankfully my Mom was very helpful and did a lot for me. Thanks Mom!! Well, this is my very first "wobbly" card I've made. I saw a great tutorial on it at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge a week or so ago and thought I'd give it a try. You can see the video here! This week at ABC Christmas Challenge the challenge is "Zero Time" because there is zero time left for Christmas card making and mailing. We could choose any of the previous challenges to do over or do if we didn't have a chance to do them originally. I decided to do F is for Frosty and G is for Glitz for a combined challenge. I made this cute card using some Glitzy paper I had from last Christmas' crafting journeys! All three papers are glittery (see below for better pictures). The Frosty image is called heartline and is from Dustin Pike. I made the image wobble as shown in the video below. So easy and so fun! I added glossy accents to his hat and Stickles just about everywhere! Cotton Candy stickles on the hearts and Frosted Lace stickles on Frosty's body. I used two stamps from Hero Arts; "Make the Season Bright" is on the outside and then "Merry Christmas" is on the inside.

Christmas Present Tag!

Keeping with the 'Twas the Night Before Christmas theme, I created this cute Christmas present tag! I used another cute image from PeggyLovesVintage and some cute reindeer paper. I arranged it so there are 8 tiny reindeer!! :) I inked all the edges with Vintage Photo distressing ink and added some vintage Christmas ribbon. I also rounded all my corners. I topped my tag off with some gold ribbon and wrote "to" and "from" by hand. I better get cracking on more of these tags if I want to have enough for Christmas!

'Twas the Night Before Christmas...Card!

Good evening everyone!! I recently won some free vintage Christmas digis from Ms. Peggy at PeggyLovesVintage and needed to put them to good use! Over at PolkaDoodles this week the challenge is "Twas the Night before Christmas". This cute image reminded me of the point in the poem when the narrator sees Santa. I used some Christmas scraps I had and inked them up with Vintage Photo distressing ink. I sewed around the red holly paper and layered my papers. I used my Cricut and the Tags, Bags and Boxes cartridge to cut out a 2inch scalloped tag which I inked as well. I was fresh out of thin brown twine so I used thin white twine and inked it to make it look brown! The sentiment is handwritten. I topped off the card with a flower and called it done business! Thanks again to Peggy for the great set of Santa cutouts!!
